Nested links and spot levels

I had a project today that was giving us some problems (what’s new). The project was a campus style project which had one linked building, that was copied several times around the site. The building itself was make up of nested link apartment units.

We wanted to present a master plan of the site showing the ground floor of all the building, with full fit-out details, including spot levels. Being a sloped site the building needed to be at different levels.

The issue came up when putting spot levels on the linked building floors. For some reason, which I still need to find out, the spot levels some times presented the wrong reduced level. The solution was in the visibility graphic settings.

When linking a plan with nested links make sure the “RVT Link Display Settings” in visibility graphics is set up as follows; Nested links: set to
